WHO IS WOOD PLAY STUDIO FOR?

An inclusive creative space for all young people.

Our studio and program is perfect for all young people whether home schooled, government schooled or somewhere in between. We cater for participants with learning needs and those needing more than what regular education providers can offer.

Wood Play Studio offers a full range of regular day time workshops, special events and holiday workshops, designing the experience to meet Young Maker's needs.

WHO ARE WE?

Run by woodworkers, for young woodworkers.

Our team are longtime woodworking professionals who wanted to create an inclusive space for young people to learn the craft. We have the experience, training, security checks and insurances required to ensure a well organised and safe workshop experience.

Whether your Young Maker is a nervous beginner or has some experience, trust Wood Play Studio to guide them on their woodworking journey.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

Wood Play Studio has everything they need.

Our workshop offers a full suite of woodworking equipment including traditional hand tools and electric tools. New makers start using simple tools such as hand planes, rasps, files and clamping gear. As their skills grow they begin to use electrical tools such as cordless drills, the scroll saw, sanding machines and the bandsaw with careful guidance from our instructors.

Participants also learn to use marking out and drawing equipment practicing applied mathematics and design techniques as they go.

OUR WOODWORKING COURSES

Flexible rolling workshops for everyone.

It's hard work raising young people so we keep our workshop courses flexible. Our regular woodworking courses are delivered in ongoing four week blocks, with one 2.5 hour long workshop held each week. If your Young Maker misses a workshop they are welcome to attend any other workshop during the 4 week block to make it up.

Longterm and regular participants work block to block on a rolling basis. We also offer special one day 'Come N Try' workshops for new makers, Mother's and Father's Days and a holiday program. Visit our Calendar for more, Join our mailing list below so you don't miss out.
