More about DRAW & SAW

About DRAW & SAW

DRAW & SAW is the perfect place for Young Maker's to embark on their woodworking journey. These workshops offer a safe and engaging environment where Young Maker's can explore their creativity while learning valuable hands-on skills. Led by our experienced instructors, each workshop is designed to be both fun and educational, ensuring participants not only enjoy the process but also gain confidence in their abilities.

Skill Development and Learning

During DRAW & SAW workshops, participants focus on three key areas: drawing and design, the safe use of fundamental hand tools and finishing. Through guided exercises, Young Maker's learn how to sketch out their ideas and bring them to life using a range of materials including plywood, solid wood, paint and oil. Our instructors emphasise safety at every step showing participants how to handle tools responsibly while fostering a supportive atmosphere for experimentation and learning.

Course Structure

The DRAW & SAW course runs over a four-week block, giving each participant time to develop their skills. During the course, participants will design and create one or two simple objects such as imaginative toys or unique household items. Each project is tailored to be achievable and rewarding, allowing children to see the direct results of their efforts and creativity.
