Pricing

$284.00 inc gst per 4 week block 

 

​If your Young Maker misses a workshop they are welcome to attend any other workshop during the 4 week block to make it up  

 

Make up sessions may not be transferred to any other 4 week block                                                                                    

The purchase price includes $20.00 allowance for general materials

If additional materials are required they may be purchased separately subject to agreement

About YOUNG MAKER

Young Maker workshops are designed as the next step in a participant's woodworking journey. These sessions offer an engaging, hands-on experience where young woodworkers broaden the range of hand tools they use and further develop their skills. With an emphasis on creativity, skill-building, and fun, the workshops provide an inspiring environment for Young Maker's to design and complete their own projects.

Tools & Materials

​

Young Makers have access to a wide variety of hand tools that expand their skillset and confidence. Tools such as hand planes, spokeshaves, drilling tools, disk sanding machines, and scroll saws are all utilised in these workshops. With careful supervision, participants also learn to use edge tools like chisels and knives safely, maintenance and sharpening techniques.

 

Participants work with solid wood, plywood, acrylic paints, non-toxic oils, and water-based adhesives. This diverse range allows for creative freedom and supports the development of new techniques and approaches to woodworking.​

The Projects

​

The Young Maker course is structured as a four-week block, during which participants typically design and make one project of their own. The process encourages them to choose a project that aligns with their individual skill set and personal vision. This approach ensures each maker feels ownership and pride in their work. As participants gain confidence, their ideas become reality with guidance and coaching from experienced instructors.
